Dr.techn. Olav Olsen AS provides services in the fields of structural engineering, marine engineering, geotechnical and environmental engineering and hydrology. The volume of assignments is mainly related to all types of buildings, transport, industry and ports, dams, marine and offshore structures, including aquaculture and renewable energy. We work with all phases of a project, such as concept studies, detailed design, verification, follow-up in the construction phase, condition assessments, lifetime extensions, reconstruction and rehabilitation.
Our three values - COMPETENCE - VALUE CREATION - COMMITMENT is strongly rooted in our company’s profile and important in all our projects. We take the environment seriously and are eco-lighthouse certified.
The company was founded in 1962 by Olav Olsen. He was a very skilled student and famous for his theory: "Continuous Shells" ® In short, one can say that the company is built on his doctoral thesis on concrete shell structures. 60 years of resilient and socially beneficial structures have given us a substantial competence bank. From the early 1970s, the company played a significant role in the development and engineering of the Condeep platforms in the North Sea, which has made major contributions to the development of modern Norway. We are now applying this core competence to a wide range of tasks such as fjord crossings, urban development, fixed and floating foundations for offshore wind and other structures in and by the sea.
OO CODE OF CONDUCT
The Transparency Act is a new law, passed by the Norwegian Government, which entered into force on 1 July 2022. The law is intended to promote companies' respect for basic human rights and decent working conditions, and ensure the public access to information. Dr.techn. Olav Olsen AS’ Code of Conduct is based on Norwegian Law and founded in Artelia’s Code of Ethics. The document sets out the principles for how we conduct business and the standards of conduct that we expect of all employees and business partners. It provides a framework and assistance in the action we take, but it does not replace common sense. OO CODE OF CONDUCT
Today we are 120 employees at Lysaker outside Oslo and in Trondheim. In 2020, we became part of Artelia Group, an engineering company with a presence in 40 countries, more than 6,000 employees and headquarter in France. Artelia also owns the Danish advisory company MOE. As a natural development of the collaboration, MOE's advisors in Norway will be included in day-to-day operations and thereby expand Olav Olsen's services with technical engineering.
