The planning proposal for the development of Grønlikaia in Bjørvika has now been submitted
Publisert: 1. October, 2024Below Ekebergåsen in Oslo is Grønlikaia. It is the last major development project in the Bjørvika area/Oslo waterfront. There will be housing, several thousand workplaces, recreational areas and its own harbour promenade. The area is part of the major development and transformation plan that was adopted in 2003 for Bjørvika. The Port of Oslo's own real estate company Hav Eiendom is behind the planning proposal together with its partners.
Dr.techn. Olav Olsen, with his expert expertise in structures in water, has been an important contributor to load-bearing systems, comfort, stability and wave analyses for floating houses, foundations for both onshore and water-based structures, as well as worked with principles and optimization opportunities in terms of sustainability and economy. The planning area consists of 5 sub-areas, with their different identities and expressions, and a floating green island, named "Dagdriftøya". The island is part of the Munkehagen area, where we work together with the Danish architectural firm Vandkunsten. You can find a wider presentation of the project on their website.
The majority of the new area will be built in water, and instead of filling in masses in the water, significant buildings will be placed on piles so that the seawater can flow freely and ensure good growth conditions for the environment in the fjord. The plan proposal was submitted to the City of Oslo in early September. Read more about the project on Hav Eiendom's website (norwegian only)
