One of Bergen’s Most Exciting Construction Projects
Publisert: 7. juli, 2026On behalf of AS Den Nationale Scene, in Bergen, Dr.techn. Olav Olsen has been responsible for the structural, geotechnical, and fire engineering design disciplines throughout both the concept design and detailed design phases. In addition, we provided consulting services for the HVAC discipline during the concept design phase.
The project is among the most complex rehabilitation projects currently underway in Norway. The works include, among other things:
▪️ New load-bearing structures and extensive interventions in the existing building fabric
▪️ New shafts and supporting structures for elevator installations
▪️ Design of a new revolving steel stage with stringent requirements for functionality and precision
▪️ Close integration of heritage preservation considerations, modern technical requirements, and challenging construction conditions
Now that the project has entered the construction phase, it is particularly rewarding to see the solutions being brought to life on site. The project is an excellent example of the specialist expertise we have developed within rehabilitation, refurbishment, and transformation projects (the ROT market), where understanding existing structures is just as important as designing new ones.
