Norwegian master's thesis at HYDRO 2023
Publisert: 23. oktober, 2023One of the world's largest hydropower conferences, HYDRO 2023, took place mid-October in Edinburgh. The conference gathers more than 1100 delegates from all over the world within its field of expertise, and is a well renomated international meeting place for everyone who works with hydropower and water resources.
Lars Marius Mikalsen started with Dr.techn. Olav Olsen in August as a newly graduated civil engineer from NTNU, specializing in watercourse engineering. Together with Kasper Haugaard Thorsen, he was invited to attend the conference and present the article and the work they have done on their joint master's thesis. There was great interest in their findings from hydraulic model trials on stepped spillways and how this work can help equip existing and new dams/floodplains for larger water flow than they were originally designed for.
